One of Jere’s first memories is of Ricky Nelson singing at the end of an Ozzie & Harriet rerun.  Impressed by how much fun playing music looked, Jere began begging his parents for a guitar … taking time out to eat and sleep… Finally given a Hi-Lo 6-string guitar from Federal’s Department Store.   He’s been playing ever since only taking time out to eat and sleep.  Ended up in College - couldn’t sleep - wrote poetry - got better -- Won a few literary awards. . . Got A Job: Public Radio -  Became exposed to music worldwide…  Passed it along as a DJ… Listened to Woody Guthrie and started singing and writing songs in that vein... Won a few Detroit Music Awards. Performed in a wide range of bands, to his current group called Taller Than They Appear.   Performed at places ranging from the Flint Folk Festival to Dunegrass to Deep Ellum in Dallas to Arts, Beats&Eats to Uncommon Grounds in Chicago.  He always has a ton of fun and believes in sharing.
